Click the “Undo” icon in the top toolbar
- Select the object that you want to modify (in our case, the outline).
- Select the Edit ▸ Undo command from the menu bar.
- The Undo options dialogue box will open.
- Select the option to restore the original outline.
- Click OK to apply the undo action.
Select “Undo Outline” from the “Edit” menu
If you don’t have the Edit menu open, you can open it by clicking on the three lines in the top left corner of the Illustrator window.
Selecting Undo Outline will expand the current selection to include all the layers in your document.
To remove the outline, simply select the text or objects that you want to remove the outline from and hit theDelete key.
Go to the “History” panel and click the “Undo Outline” icon
Select the entire document and press the CTRL + Z key together, this will undo the previous outline
Select the text that you want to restore the outline to and press the CTRL + U key together, this will restore the outline to the text
Use the shortcut key “Ctrl+Z”
Illustrator provides the shortcut key Ctrl Z to undo the outline of an object. Ctrl Z is also used to redo the outline.

If you want to go back to the default outline, just press the shortcut key Cmd+Z. If you want to create a new outline, press Cmd+N. To undo an outline, select it with the Selection Tool (A), and press Cmd+Z.
